Santos-Dumont watch, large model, high autonomy quartz movement (~ 6 years). Rose gold 750/1000 case, bezel set with 52 brilliant-cut diamonds and beaded crown set with one brilliant-cut diamond, totalling 0.66 carat, satin-brushed silvered sunray dial, Roman numerals, blued-steel sword-shaped hands, sapphire crystal. Shiny burgundy alligator-skin strap, rose gold 750/1000 ardillon buckle. Case dimensions: 43.5 mm x 31.4 mm, thickness: 7.3 mm. Water-resistant to 3 bar (approx. 30 metres).
ABOUT THE COLLECTION
1904. Louis Cartier granted the wish of his friend, the famous Brazilian aviator Alberto Santos Dumont: to be able to tell the time while flying. This was the birth of one of the first ever wristwatches. Featuring a geometric shape and exposed screws, the watch quickly became one of the Maison's watchmaking icons. The Santos rose to the ranks of a classic that would defy the hands of time.
